Regular Term Faculty Position in Software Engineering

Applications are invited for a regular term faculty position in computer engineering at the assistant professor level in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in the area of software engineering. The position will commence December 15, 2022 or earliest thereafter. Demonstrated proficiency and experience in the area of software engineering is required. The successful candidate should ideally have a bachelor’s degree and an earned doctorate in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a related discipline by the start date of the appointment. The appointment will be for a three-year term. This position is subject to budgetary approval.
The successful candidate will participate in the academic programs of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, including teaching undergraduate and graduate courses; developing undergraduate laboratories; supervising research by graduate students, as well as undergraduate students and postdoctoral fellows; and other educational, scholarly and professional activities. The successful candidate will be expected to seek out research funding, build an active research program and team and, as appropriate, collaborate with partners in industry, government and academia. An ability to teach a broad range of electrical and computer engineering courses would be an asset. The successful candidate will be expected to register as a professional engineer in Newfoundland and Labrador.
